For over 10 years, I have skillfully helped individuals to preserve and grow their capital and developed a special expertise in advising professional athletes and performing artists. I have also built a top-performing brokerage and managed several offices for two major Canadian financial institutions.
As a Portfolio Manager at Macquarie Private Wealth, I am qualified to advise on a discretionary basis, a distinguishing credential I possess which gives me a clear advantage over many of my peers. In this capacity, I have developed detailed model portfolios to satisfy a range of client preferences using my disciplined investment approach.
I have attained my MBA in Finance from Laurier University; a Post-Graduate Diploma in Investment Management from Concordia University; a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Hons.) from York University; my Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation; my Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) designation; and my Canadian Investment Manager designation (CIM).
My interest in investing carries over into my volunteer work. I support the SaMarc Dream and Achieve Foundation, created by Sam Mitchell and Marc Upshaw, and the Family First Football Camp, created by Marshawn Lynch and many other pro ball players. I sponsor both of these fine initiatives and provide financial seminars to their members.
As a member of the Urban Financial Services Coalition (UFSC), I provide financial education, mentoring, advice and access to underprivileged children. I sit on the Board of Directors for the Reel World Film Festival, which screens hundreds of Canadian and international films that reflect positive and inspiring images from multi-racial communities.
I am also involved in the Investment Advisory Committee of the Ministry of the Attorney General for the Province of Ontario for the Office of the Guardian of the Public Trustee. The government is entrusted with several billion dollars, funds that have been bequeathed to, and are used to, support orphans and elderly individuals without families. Our committee is the voting panel that regulates the Investment Advisors who manage these funds on behalf of the province.
