Heather Aked

Heather AkedHeather has 20 years of experience in the investment industry. She began her career in London, England in 1985. On her return to Toronto, Canada in 1987 she joined CIBC Wood Gundy. Heather later moved to Victoria, first with Scotia McLeod and then with Canaccord Capital in 2001. She began working with Kim Genereux in 2006 and moved to the predecessor firm to Macquarie Private Wealth to form a team with Kim in the fall of 2009. Not only is Heather the team’s Life Vision Planner, but she also specializes in client service and wealth management. From the early part of her career until now, Heather has enjoyed the opportunity to help see her clients through all types of market cycles: the good, the bad and everything in between.

  • Financial Management Advisor (FMA)
  • Member of the Fellow of Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI)
  • Certified Professional Consultant on Aging (CPCA)

Heather has her Certified Professional Consultant on Aging (CPCA) designation from the Canadian Academy of Senior Advisors. A CPCA is a professional dedicated to providing the highest quality of service possible to their Boomer and senior clients. A CPCA understands the basic processes of aging, and how these processes influence the health, social and financial considerations of mature Canadians.

Heather also has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.

Heather has been a resident of Victoria for over 10 years. After a lifetime of moving about (she was born in Zimbabwe and has lived in England, Ontario, the Northwest Territories, and Alberta), she definitely considers Victoria home. Along with her husband Tim and son Alexander, Heather enjoys the beautiful landscape and climate that Victoria offers.

Heather and her family are always active and spend quite a bit of time outdoors hiking, camping and enjoying all sorts of sports activities. They also like to travel and hope to see Australia (and attend the Australian Open Tennis in particular) in the near future.

Heather’s other passions are the environment, healthy and balanced living and Rotary International. Heather’s been a member of the Oak Bay Rotary Club for over 10 years and continues to be both amazed and impressed by the good works Rotary and Rotarians deliver year after year. She’s very active with her club, having served as President and Director of a number of Committees on the Executive over the years.
